For question 1 can you explain how the first equation is 3rd degree, that is not the answer I got and I don't see how it can be 3rd degree.


For question 8, the solution does not make sense to me. I got the solution x = {0.5,-3}, and I factored the equation to  (2x-1)(x+3) = 0.

Hi Allison, you are correct for these two problems. I just realized these problems and solutions did not match up when my youngest took the test last week. For #1 the question needed to be updated, for #8 the answer needed to be fixed (I had solved the wrong problem in the solution). 

The answers you have given are correct for the test you had. Well done on them!
