On 4d I am supposed to put the formula 4x-5y=1 into standard form, which would be 4x+-5y=1. Then I have to find the a, b and c in it. I said a=4, b=-5 and c=1, and the answer book said that b is wrong. Could you explain, please?

Your answer is correct. a=4, b=-5, and c=1 for this equation when it is written in standard form.

The back of my book had this answer correctly. But, there could be a typo in yours.
