Can I have help in understanding if my answers are accurate or inaccurate?

The 5th question was: Tell what you know of an inverse variation function. Include what happens to y, if you double x.

I answered: In an inverse variation, if x changes, y changes opposite.

The 6th question was: Explain what a function is and how it is seen.

I answered: A function cannot have more than one output, but can have multiple inputs.

Hi Sarah,

This is a good question. Your answer for both of these are partially correct and I would grade them with half credit.

#5: It is true that for an inverse variation if x doubles, then y will cut in half. These are opposite of each other. But, adding and subtracting are also opposites. So, simply stating if x changes the opposite happens to y doesn't quite pinpoint what happens in specifically an inverse variation.

#6: Your answer is correct, but doesn't include that a function has two sets of numbers. Also, it needs to include how to see a function (a table, a graph, and a formula)
